Nepal Internet Foundation (NIF) is a non-profit, non-governmental company committed to bridging the digital divide in rural communities. NIF focus on establishing community networks to provide internet connectivity, education, and economic opportunities in underserved areas. Rural communities Access to Information Society (RUCCESS) aims to empower local communities through technology and collaboration.

Internship Overview:

NIF project RUCCESS is seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns to join team in Bhimphedi and Indrasarobar, Nepal. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community network implementation, project management, and community engagement. Interns will work closely with our experienced team members and local communities to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the community network initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

1.        Assist in the deployment and maintenance of community network infrastructure.
2.         Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize network performance.
3.         Engage with local communities to raise awareness about the benefits of the community network and security.
4.          Support training sessions and workshops for community members on using digital tools and accessing online resources i.e. social media and cyber security.
5.         Assist in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation of the network's impact on the community
6.           Contribute to project documentation and reports as required.

         Qualifications:

1.         Enthusiasm for community development, technology, and bridging the digital divide.
2.              Basic understanding of networking concepts is a plus, but not required.
3.         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4.         Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
5.         Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
6.         Proficiency in local languages is preferred.
7.         Must be a current student or recent graduate (within the last year) in a relevant field.

Duration:

The internship will be for a period of 6 month, starting from 1^st of September 2023.
