Nepal Internet Foundation’s Key Support for Dhukka Didi
Dhukka Didi is an initiative supported by the Nepal Internet Foundation, dedicated to empowering women through technology, mental health awareness, and storytelling. It comprises two interconnected components: Dhukka Didi AI and the Dhukka Didi Podcast.
Dhukka Didi AI is a smart digital companion designed to support women with accessible, confidential, and culturally relevant information. It covers key areas such as mental health, physical well-being, reproductive health, personal safety, digital literacy, and access to support services. Available in local languages, Dhukka Didi AI is especially designed for women across Nepal, including those in rural and underserved areas. By offering round-the-clock assistance and preventive care guidance, it helps bridge the information gap and empowers women to make informed decisions about their well-being.
Complementing this is the Dhukka Didi Podcast, a platform for powerful conversations led by Miss Evana Manandhar, former Miss Nepal 2015. The podcast features in-depth dialogues with doctors, mental health professionals, and inspiring women changemakers from various sectors. These episodes explore real-life experiences, health topics, emotional resilience, leadership, and societal challenges faced by women. The aim is to normalize discussions around issues often silenced in communities and to foster a supportive and informed listener base.
Together, Dhukka Didi AI and the Dhukka Didi Podcast offer a holistic approach to women’s empowerment—combining the reach and reliability of artificial intelligence with the emotional depth and relatability of real stories. The initiative not only disseminates crucial knowledge but also uplifts voices, breaks stigma, and creates a sense of belonging for women navigating everyday challenges.
By integrating technology and empathy, Dhukka Didi stands as a powerful ally for women in Nepal, ensuring they are heard, supported, and informed.
